Friends treated my husband and me to a night out at this quaint French bistro. Between us we ordered a seafood dish, lamb, and duck. We tasted each other's selections and vowed to definitely order it for ourselves the next time we were there. I could not believe I had been passing around this lovely café for years without knowing of its excellence. On certain nights a group of talented musicians plays for guests. Even the burgers are a cut above what you would find in most local restaurants. What impressed me the most was that ALL of the menu items, dessert included, that I experienced were delicious. Our hats off to the chefs!
Le Bistro du Village opened its doors on the day of the Beaujolais Nouveau of 2000 by Mustapha Snoussi and Donna Morris-Snoussi. Previously known as Crêpe Du Jour, Le Bistro Du Village has continued serving guests for over 18 years in business in the heart of Historic Mt Washington Village. We decided to change our name from Crêpe Du Jour to Le Bistro Du Village (The Bistro Of The Village) to properly label our restaurant as a true and authentic French bistro. Our motto is French, Fun and Friendly. This is our guideline we use to bring you the best experience ever at Bistro Du Village. The word “bistro” is defined in French as a neighborhood restaurant where you can eat good food at a fair price. The typical color of a French Bistro is pale yellow to brown (otherwise known as Bistre) because the walls used to get dirty quickly from nicotine. Bistro Du Village is also known for its parties, three times a year to celebrate famous French events such as Bastille day on July 14th, The Beaujolais Nouveau on the third thursday of November or The New Year's Eve. We are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We welcome you to be our guest and discover our typical French dishes, Savory Crêpes, tasteful appetizers or our delicious dessert Crêpes. We are proud to introduce you to a large wine list including sweet French wine, authentic French cocktails and apéritifs such as Ricard, Campari, Lillet, Suze... The best Champagne List with Moët et Chandon Brut Imperial, Veuve Clicquot, Perrier Jouët... Come visit us and live unforgettable moments in the most authentic French Bistro in Baltimore.
Crêpe Du Jour was established in 1997 by husband and wife team Mustapha and Donna Snoussi. They had just relocated to Baltimore after living in Paris, France and began their first business by opening an upscale kiosk in the outside atrium of The Village of Cross Keys where they sold crêpes, panini, salads and more. The business was a success and they had acquired the clientele needed which would later support them in the opening of their Mt. Washington restaurant in 2000. The restaurant has expanded with the opening of an all year round heated terrace. Crêpe Du Jour has been part of the "Zagat" restaurant guide since 2003 where they describe dining on the terrace on a long summer evening as "almost feeling like Paris". The owner is often present to greet the guests and assure the quality of the food is at its best.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
